A New Understanding of Spiritual Warfare
We know that God had quickened us together with Christ and raised us up with Christ. And God has made believers in Christ to be seated with Christ far above all principalities and powers and above every name that is named not only in this world but also in that which is to come.
Our understanding of spiritual warfare is that we are ruling and reigning from the throne of Christ and God has put all things under our feet. Hence, we are doing warfare from a position of victory. Satan’s defeat is an accomplished truth. Satan can no more defeat a believer in Christ than he could defeat the seated Christ. Christ’s victory over the devil is our victory. Indeed the bible says that Christ’s Victory over Satan is written to the account of every believer.
As Christ overcame the devil by the spoken words, we also overcome the enemy by the words that we speak. Though our words are very important during prayers, they are equally powerful if there is a consistency of believing God’s word with our hearts and speaking them with our lips.
Our own spiritual warfare is from a third heaven reality and we are to establish on earth what is already established in heaven. We must establish by faith everything that Christ has already won on the earth by decrees and prophetic proclamations.
